My ApexSQL application fails on startup silently

This article explains what to do when the application does not start at all.

Upon opening an ApexSQL application, nothing happens. I do not get any sort of error message or indication in the event logs. Rebooting didn’t help

If you installed your program over an older version, the new version tries to load the old profiles at start-up. Depending on the product and the version, this may cause such issues.

If your application was activated previously, please perform the following steps:

  1. Start the Windows Registry editor: Start | Run | regedit
  2. Locate a key that corresponds to your application in HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Software | ApexSQL
  3. Delete the entire key
  4. Start the application and reactivate it

If you installed your program over an older version, please uninstall the application. Delete the installation directory to clean all the profiles and .xml files and then re-install.
