This article explains what to do if you’re experiencing the “Value does not fall within the expected range: Microsoft.VisualStudio.CommandBars” error when Visual Studio or SSMS starts with ApexSQL Complete, ApexSQL Refactor, and/or ApexSQL Search add-ins installed

Symptoms
The “Value does not fall within the expected range: Microsoft.VisualStudio.CommandBars” error

Cause
The cause of the problem is difficult to pinpoint. However, we can confirm that ApexSQL Complete, ApexSQL Refactor and ApexSQL Search in certain scenarios, may cause Visual Studio and/or SQL server Management Studio to experience the above mentioned error

Affected versions:

ApexSQL Complete 2012.03.0011
ApexSQL Refactor 2013.02.0045
ApexSQL Search 2013.02.0008
